Boarding - Senior

Newlands is renowned for our excellent pastoral care and teachers aim to highlight any specific area of social or academic concern. Visitors notice the unique atmosphere which is happy, caring and quietly purposeful. A number of adults have responsibility for the well being of each pupil including the matron and boarding house staff who are always available for personal counselling and care.

The boarding facilities provide excellent and homely accommodation for students. We offer excellent catering with provision for individual dietary needs. There is an excellent rapport between students and staff.

Boarders between 13 and 18 years share a room with two or three other students. This arrangement helps with integration and enables students adapt to life in an English boarding school and enhance their knowledge of English culture.

Regular excursions to places of historical and cultural interest such as museums and castles as well as to musicals, plays and seasonal events are organised to ensure that our boarding students have opportunities to explore a wide variety of activities.

Students enjoy superb facilities at Newlands. Team games such as crickets, hockey, netball, rugby and soccer are played regularly against other schools. Swimming, basket ball, volleyball, tennis, table tennis are also an option. Additional opportunities for activities including sub-aqua diving, sailing, golf and horse riding are also provided.
