Clavinova is given to the Music Department
The Newlands Music Department has recently been the lucky recipient of a new Yamaha Clavinova.
Mrs Tanya Langridge, a parent at the school, entered a competition on Classic FM last year to win one of the iconic digital pianos, celebrating 25 years of Yamaha producing the instruments. Twenty-five Clavinovas were awarded by Yamaha to deserving charitable and community groups nationwide – a scheme which was backed by Jamie Callum and Jools Holland.
Newlands was delighted to be given the new instrument which has already been put to excellent use providing the authentic harpsichord accompaniment to a GCSE performance. It will also be centre-stage at the Spring Concert on Friday 20th March, and will be put to very good use in the months and years to come.
