Newlands School had a full week of fixtures last week including Rugby from three boys’ teams.

 The under 9’s played a strong Claremont School team who played valiantly but were ultimately outclassed by the speed and skill of Newlands.  Newlands won 13 tries to two which included five tries from Jack Bree and a brace of tries from Alex Poulton.

The Under 12’s were also victorious against Claremont School.  Newlands ran out comfortable winners 22-5.  Newlands used the width of the pitch and their speed well. Man of the match was Archie Tasker who scored two great tries.

The 1st XV had a bruising encounter against a very physical and well drilled Shoreham College 1st team.  Newlands took an early lead with man of the match, Jack Clarke, running through the majority of the Shoreham team untouched.  Newlands dominated in many areas of the game. Players were strong in running, tackling and at the breakdown.  This was the first game of the season and set a fantastic baseline for improvement.  Well done to all those involved.
