Co-Educational Day School and Boarding from 0-18 years

6TH FORM (POST GCSE)

The main aim of our Sixth Form provision is to prepare you for successful transition into Higher Education and employment.

This is achieved by offering you a good range of academic subjects to study at both AS and A2 level, providing you with the opportunity to broaden your experiences and supporting you with preparation for your career progression.

There are a number of reasonable expectations that the school will have of you and that you will have of the school.

You will be expected to:

  • Set a good example in terms of dress and behaviour by adhering to the Sixth Form Code of Conduct
  • Contribute to the wider aspects of school life by getting involved and taking on responsibilities
  • Complete a minimum of five hours independent study per week for each subject
  • Attend school at the requested times

You can expect us to:

  • Plan and deliver appropriate AS and A2 courses in small groups, to enable you to get into college or university
  • Provide you with continual relevant careers education and guidance to help you make informed decisions
  • Provide you with adequate facilities for your periods of independent study

As a member of the Sixth Form you will be expected to register at 8.15am and 1.45pm, Monday to Friday, with your personal tutor. Lessons or independent study will take place until lunch, which is usually at 1.00pm. Scheduled afternoon lessons must be attended, beyond which you can arrange how you spend your time.
